Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call!

Did you get your SB5000 with the Icon Headstock? Any chance you could throw some photos up?

Well the wait is over, my SB5000 came today and It's nice. The bass seem to be on the heavy side but I'll find out after I play it for a hour. Here some pic.
Nice looking bass man! All of these look great and the various clips sound great too. (That Carter dude on youtube and posting here was ripping it up with the loops and whatnot. Dig the spec too.)
The weight thing is making me leary b/c of neck and back aches that rear up after a couple hours.

I just ordered an SB5000 a few weeks back and its scheduled to be completed 5/24/2010. I'm very excited and hear the basses are outselling all their other models. I'm blown away by the video clips and everyone who owns them are in love with 'em.
Yes Sir this is one great sounding bass. At practice tonight I was blown away By the tone of this bass. I got use to the weight and find the bass well balance. The only grief I have is upper horn poke you in the chess when sitting other than that the bass sings. I have to say after owning other's Carvin basses this is one of the better sounding bass and the note ring out nice and clear.
Well Carvin got me once again...I just placed my order for an SB4000 with the spalted maple top, gold hardware and abalone diamond inlays. It should look similar to the one in the catalog/web site except I decided to go with the ebony fretboard, active electronics and the gold plated logo.
Now the wait begins.

The only negative comment Ive heard about the SB5000 is the weight. But looking at countless images of this bass (its practically porn for me) Ive found myself wondering about both the upper and lower horns. Would the upper horn dig into your chest or ribs? Would the lower horn dig in your knee when sitting down? I think bass4worship might be the only person to comment on this.
Has anybody else had any issues the upper body of this bass?
Why no rear route option
If you want rear mounted controls, you can get the B40 or B50.
Anyone one know if the sale prices on these on the carvin website is temporary or a continuing thing?

The B50 is *not* the same instrument... When I was in the Carvin store a few weeks ago, I played a few B-40s/B-50s as well as the 4000 - for what ever reason, the 4000 just felt and sounded *much* better. Go figure.
That's the normal price. $899 (not including case they make you buy) is the base price for an alder body, maple neck, standard finish, passive four string bass. Truth be told, that's a pretty darn nice deal for a custom instrument.

Okay, what are the specs? The body appears to be Ash, but it *could* be maple (which would explain the weight...)
So give us details! It's a nice looking axe, but with Carvin, you have so many options that you never quite know what you're looking at....
Heck, then for $799 it's even a better deal! (Though I much prefer the 5 string at $899).
It is a raging pity Carvins have just poor resale... though maybe the SB5000 will change that.
I think the real question will be who will it go when that first SB5000 shows up on Ebay... Given the wait involved in getting a new one, it might go for more than you'd think!
