I guess so. I specifically contacted the salesperson to let him know I wanted the headstock to match the fretboard and this is what I got. I looked around at some other SBs and I've seen a few the same way.I think that the headstock mismatch thing is because the headstock is finished in gloss and the neck/board is tung oiled?

I am seeing (or rather, not seeing) a disturbing lack of PHOTOS on this thread...

just got it home. it was delivered to work. This bass is unbelievable. I was considering buying a 2nd willis bass and having it fretted I love this thing. It'd be an amazing instrument at 2x the price.
