who the hell wants to buy a used amp and save 25% when they can get 25% off a new amp from most vendors just by asking?

Me, but not for 25%. I've been killing it on Craigs List lately. I average about 45% - 60% savings. Past six months, new bass rig, electric piano, telecaster - all amazing deals!

Unless Craigslist has changed, it is an utter pain kin the ass to find anything specific. On the eBay thing, I missed out on a Gibson Thunderbird starting at $790 - no one bid on it and thus the seller was able to cancel the auction.

Throw down a lowball placeholder bid for the opening price, then save your real bid for the last 3 seconds. I win about 75% of the stuff I want that way.

People are sometimes smart enough to set a limit, and let it pass if it exceeds that limit.
