Carvin

I am currently playing a Carvin LB75, which I like to call THE BEST LB75...........................
It is THE best bass that I have ever owner/played. I played Spector basses for many years, along with a Gibson EB-0, 2 Fender P's, a Carvin LB75 (which led me to buying an LB75 made to MY specs) and a Peavey Cirrus.

I am currently playing in the Whiskey Train Band, a classic rock cover band, that plays in the areas surrounding Denver................

Here's a picture of my current stage rig, using a Laney Richter R4H, one 4X10 cab and one 2X12 cab...................... Although I am GASing for a Carvin BR1500 and 2 BRX cabs..................

I also run a small custom paint company, called Flameout Graphics........................

This is my first Carvin bass, which I received about a month ago. It is a LB70P, and is finished in deep triple step tiger's eys stain over flamed maple.

What kind of connections do you need to get a top like that?

I would buy a Carvin if I could get something like this.

There have been some really amazing flamed koa tops come out of Carvin in the last couple years. A quick look around the carvin.com bbs and the carvinmuseum.com bbs in the guitar forums and bass forums in both places and in the Player's Gallery and Private Collections sections at carvinmuseum.com will confirm this.
Try these for starters :)

I'm a Carvin employee, so I may have had a better than average chance of getting a better than average top. I don't think there is another one "like that." Bunny Brunel ordered a BB70 for Stanley Clark. It was built about the same time as mine. It's stunning, but no better than what I got. (Mine's a teeny bit better, IMHO. ) But mostly, it just depends on what they have in the woodpile at the time. And most of the flamed koa tops I've seen of late have been very highly figured.

Here are mine:

I don't have a photo of my AC40...but it looks like the one on the left, with the following differences...

Link Removed

it is fretted with dots, the headstock is englemann spruce matching the body...the body has no binding..
AC40's are great basses...their sound falls right in the middle between an ABG and a single-pickup bass with flats...

IMO...they are the perfect acompanyment to amplified acoustic guitars...

I bought it before I played fretless...I'd love to have a fretless sister to this one...maybe in a 5 string...
