Case for an Epi Explorer

I just got an Epi explorer and now I'm going to need a case for it. it's a weird shaped bass so I have a feeling that it's going to be a pain in the ass finding a case for it, and the proper case is like $90 (which I refuse to spend on a case)

So besides gig bags, does anyone have any idea where I can find a case that this bass will fit into?

I agree w/Number27. $90 isn't bad at all for a custom-fitted (i.e. proper) case for your Explorer. Gigbags are OK for traveling from the house to the gig, but for proper, safe storage nothing beats a proper-fitting case.

And as you've already figured out, finding a case for an Explorer isn't all that easy. I'd spring for the $90 pronto.

I see your point regarding the cost of the bass vs the cost of the case, but if you're going to have a less than common instrument you can't really expect a to find a cheap case to fit it. I'm sorry if $90 seems a little steep, but what you're talking about is a specialty item that probably isn't very profitable for most companies to offer.

If I had that bass I'd be happy to find a case that fit it at all.

Hi.

OP, still no link?

Why?

I do understand Your reluctance of putting 50% of the instrument cost to a case, long time ago when I didn't play out I felt the same way.

Those days are long gone though.

For someone else the information about a cheap case will be golden, questions about Explorer bass cases pop up almost weekly.

Please do post the link so others can protect their instruments even if You don't feel the need. Yet ;).

No way would've I made mine if I knew a $90, hell even 100€ case was readily available.

Regards
Sam
