OP, have you checked the Gator website? Go to their menu and choose "CASE ADVISOR", and they tell you if they have a case to fit it. If you can't find it on the list, just contact them, and they'll help you out.
I had Anvil make my flight case with wheels on one end. It's easy to wheel around even though it is for a 14 lb. Alembic 6 string.Dude… I remember Crying walking through the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport some years ago. I had my bass in an Anvil Road Case. They let me gate check it, but when the plane landed, I had to walk from gate 23 to gate 3 towards baggage claim with that beast!! By the time I got to gate 10, I was Done! LOL!!! That heavy beast just knocked and beat my lower calves and ankles to death! I traded/sold it when I got back home and ordered one of those SKB Bass ATA Roto Rolling tube deals.
Not sure which I tried, but the top horn wouldn't fit.My 4001 fits in a Vertigo quite well.
The Jazz G & G are a little wider than the P cases.. In other words, the P bass swims in the jazz case and a jazz won't fit into a P case.
I've put P basses in J cases for years. I also have managed to fit quite a few other non-Fender basses into a J case. I would never say a P "swims" in a J case. I would just avoid any case that has a cutout to match a particular body shape.
