Casino Royale

Have any of you had a chance to check it out yet?

I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first with the direction that they were taking Ian Fleming's work and I was even more skeptical with their choice of Bond in Craig, but I was really surprised at how well the film turned out to be.

For starters... it has one of the best opening Bond sequences to date. Not to mention Craig's performance reminds me very much of how I felt after watching Batman Begins with Christian Bale. I walked out questioning why I liked Brosnan so much and how any of his films were as entertaining as I thought they were. There really is something about Craig that is no-nonsense, and human that I felt the other 007s aside from Connery did not have.

If you have not seen it and are a fan of 007, you really should check it out.

I haven't seen it yet, but it's got some pretty good reviews; apparently the trend is away from the explosions/SFX of the more recent Bond offerings, and the focus is more on the development of the characters, which is a refreshing change. One reviewer said that Daniel Craig is the closest yet to Ian Fleming's original idea of the ideal Bond; which makes sense when you think of what happened after Sean Connery, and who can't forget George Lazenby, (George who?) ;)

I was going to say "I can't wait!" but the truth is that I don't really care; I'll wait for it to come out on "Netflix"

And I bet that even this new guy is of Celtic blood. Maybe oneday if they say their prayers to a WASP'y god, we'll get a good ol' Anglo-Saxon in that tux..........
You'd have to fight the Scots and the Irish for it though, and we can see how well thats turned out in the past. :)

A blond Bond is one thing, but leaving Burt Bacharach off of the soundtrack is really unforgivable. I can only hope there's no product placement invollving our hero and Captian Morgan.

No Captain Morgan... however, they do show Bond driving a Ford for a minute, which is odd...

He only uses that car once before using an Aston Martin though.

Saw it last night with the wife and we both loved it! Great story, great filming, very good character development, great cars, typical smokin' hot Bond women...I'm sorry I lost my train of thought there for a minute.

I concur with the comparison to the most recent Batman movie. This 007 is much more tough and down to earth. He makes mistakes, he gets hurt, he's not perfect, etc. Well acted by the new-comer.

Great flick, highly recommended.
