Since the SFT was designed with the mids in mind and is said to get close to the B-15 sound, as does my B100R while also seeming to have a hole in the mids, I'm curious to see if the SFT is able to at least partially fill that hole. Have any of you tried this pair and had any good results?

Catalinbread SFT able to fill Ampeg B100R's hole in the mids??

I found a Barber Linden EQ and a B-100R were a perfect match.
The Ultra Mid button on a B-100R actually scoops the mids instead of boosting them.
Between all the eq options on the B-100R, you still feel there is a hole in the mids? What you're experiencing could just be typical of a 1x15"
All that said I did like the SFT with the B-100R, but I liked the Linen EQ even better.....even though like I just mentioned there are plenty of knobs and buttons on the amp.
I'll be curious what others have to say.

It sounds like theres a hole in the upper mids to me, but after thinking about what you're saying about the 15", I think you're are correct
I wouldn't say the Catalinbread SFT is good to fill in the mids per se. But I really like it for being touch-sensitive. It cleans up very nicely if you use a very light touch. I don't hear much of a mid scoop in it naturally, but it doesn't have a mid boost either. Its got that whole bandaxitol (sp?) thing going on so you can get a mid boost by dropping bass and treble.
Buy the SFT if you want a really nice dynamic touch sensitive low gain overdrive that almost never sounds harsh. It won't automatically fill in a mid-less setup, though.

Uh, the B100R is a VERY mids-heavy amp. Many players prefer running it with both mid controls all the way off, bass and treble WAY up, and bass boost and mid scoop activated!
That said, you have to trust your ears, so there's nothing wrong with adding more mids using a pedal if you see fit. If you want to boost mids with an SFT, you have to turn both low and high EQ controls down, and increase output for the boost, gain to taste. Heavy gain boost the mids, but (obviosuly) with distortion. to compensate for that boost and go flatter, turn both EQ controls UP and adjust to taste

i don't get the lack of mids thing with the b100r, either. that was one thing i really dug about it, that it had mids very much like an old b-15 cab from the 60's.
its not a bad pedal just dont run it in a parallel set up or you will push your signal back half a cycle making it out of phase

I am in agreement with Volume 4, the Barber Linden will do the trick. I used mine today and it reminded me how good this pedal is. If this pedal is not of interest, a good graphic EQ will work as well. I use the MXR 10 band EX and it is a great pedal as well.

I just got one of these amps this week, and I am also a huge fan of the SFT. As others have said this amp is very heavy in the low mids, and so if the SFT. If you use this pedal with the amp you will not fill a hole as such but rather you will boost the low-mid hump!
Hi there. I do not know about your amp, nor do I about the SFT. But I own an EWS bmc.
It can boost your mids quite easily but it is well priced too.... You can choose the frequency range and how many db it should boost/cut. Inside the pedal you can adjust the general volume of the pedal.
I just use it while doing fill-ins to cut through the mix (metal band..).
