My amp head crapped out yesterday and is not good enough for me to pay for it to get fixed and I'm now in the market for a good head in the 300-500$ price range. I've been looking at the Carvin Bx600 because it looks like the biggest bang for my buck. But I've only been looking for a day so is there one that anyone thinks is a great buy?

Yes. Go for it, but try one out before buying if you can.

If you are looking for a specific tone from your amp, it might not be what you're looking for. They are not super hi-fi, but they are fairly clean sounding and don't color your sound very much.
