Alright, so I just searched for the thread about the Human Centipede and then also found another one with a giant centipede video...

And so I realized how much I hate centipedes. So a poll, who hates centipedes and who isn't bothered by them so much? Oh and I guess..who likes them?

I love Centipede

...something about a 2 foot long venomous biting demon fruit roll up is incredibly interesting
Beauty. :D
We get these guys:

-in the house; my youngest calls them *pokey-bugs*
They have a very distinctive & wiggly, skittering walk. They're purportedly harmless, but if they come in my castle, they die.
The one in the pic is about 1 1/2" long; I've seen them get to like 3"

We get those evil bastages too. They run like 100 mph.
One side note though - they DO bite and are venomous. It's just that the venom wont really hurt you much. My cat loves them.

For Centi/Millipede haters, I present

ARTHROPLEURA!

Interestingly, even though I live in the tropics in a place where there's plenty of greenery/vegetation (Calcutta suburbs), while I have seen centipedes the upto around 4" long, none of them are as bizarre as the one bassteban posted. We do have large moths and massive bats, though.

The venom is relatively weak on the grand scale but can be harmful to smaller animals (ie - kittens, etc). Grown cats shouldn't be an issue though, as I'm sure you've noticed. We get them too, and they end up dead - whether it's quick by my hand or by being eaten by a cat depends on who catches them first.

Those are House Centipedes. I see them out in the yard or in the basement. Fast little buggers.

I'd be less tolerant of one of these Texas Giant Centipedes.

Anything with blue-green blood and guts makes my skin crawl. Ugh. I was partaking of a brew while surfing some talkbass about a year ago, when I felt one crawl on my leg. I freaked out and screamed like a small child, peed down the front of ye olde tousers, and as soon as it fell off my leg because of the sissy-dance I was doing, I beat the crap out of it with my hammer.

I can still see the dents in the linoleum from where I went a little stupid with that framing hammer.
