I just counted and realized I have sold or returned 26 pedals in 2023 alone. I have only been into effects pedals for a little over a year. But man I have cycled through a lot of pedals. It made me realize that you guys who have been collecting for years must have an insane list of previously owned pedals.

Started in 2008, not sure the chronological order of all these, so I'll go alphabetically! I put an asterix beside ones I really liked but moved on for whatever reason. Lesson I learned is expensive is not necessarily better. The TCE Mojomojo, for example, is my personal all-time fave OD. I can afford pretty much anything I want, but my search for dirt ended with that pedal..

I will answer this, however.

That money burning a hole in your pocket always turns into a pedal you sell later, sometimes quickly.
Know your sound. That will determine what pedals you need.
Maybe the most important pedal is a tuner. Don't skimp out.
It's ok to buy and keep something you like that never makes it to the stage.
Turn down the mix knob. It'll sound better in the band.
Buy used whenever possible.

longest held pedals are Boss Hyperfuzz. Boss Bass Overdive. Crybaby bass wah. the ibanez Black noise. the FEAlabs Growler.. the only pedal I've sold is a whammy 4.. I bought a whammy 5.. sold the 4 to my cousin cause he likes the white stripe.. I think I got 100 of them maybe.. I had a the HyperFuzz stolen twice bought another one.. Boss Bf-2 was stolen once and I got another.. man I've got too many pedals
