Change pots on G&L L2500

All you've said is that the wires are "low quality". I just don't understand why you think that they are "low quality". In low level situations like this, wires are wires. As long as the wires aren't broken, it'll work perfectly. If you really want to replace the wires, that's fine, but I just think it's a waste of time. Even though you keep asking for advice, you don't seem to be interested in hearing any of it. So, I'll politely bow out and leave it be.

+1

I'll join you at the bar...

Well I have change the wiring. I have to do more listenings test but the first impresion is that the bass is more solid and the upper harmonics are ringing better. It may be the placebo effect as stated before.

I did come back to series parallel...I thought I already have the jazz so...(I didn´t have a 3 position switch to do series/parallel/single that´s why I didn´t do it)

And I have installed a balance pot for the pick-ups and took out the selector. I like this feature

Can someone here comment on the sound of a G&L bass humbucher single coil? Does it sound good: Is it noisy? I heard single coils are usually noisy. I have heard that the OMG mod will reduce noise whil adding bass boost from the second coil, but am just currious if playing 1 coil of a G&L humbucker works ok on its own.

The single coil isn't any noisier than a typical single coil pickup. As long as the bass is properly shielded, the noise won't be loud. If the single coil mode is wired to use opposite coils (inside or outside coils) it'll be hum canceling when you use both pickups. The OMG actually does the opposite then you think as far as noise. It adds a capacitor to one of the coils to make it sound like the low end is boosted. This makes the coils uneven and therefor no longer hum canceling. However, it's no noisier then in single coil mode.
