Changing band name

Just pick two random names out of a hat. The more of a head scratcher, the better. Boom, new band name.

We tried that

I am being critical here -

The 1st tune has overplaying, tons of melodic and accompaniment cliches, and vocals a bit too out of tune in places. A lot of listeners won't get past that. I would scrap the whole track, and recommend changing it to an unfamiliar key , even just a half step from where it is - to get you all out of the boxes you're in that is strangling a good song. Less instrumentation. A little melodic tweaking would also serve this song well.

2nd one sounds better, I just wouldn't put it on a demo for booking because its a mostly negative statement about a heartless, neurotic woman who is also being praised for it. Live, I'm sure its a good time. As a first or second impression for booking, it has a lot of potential to alienate.

I thought Soundmill the better name.

I would add, that you should try sticking a mic on that acoustic instead of using the DI. Even a lowly 57 can sound great on an acoustic.

If you can't get all your band members to agree on a name, you're certainly not gonna get TBers to!

I think Lucky Saturday is a fine name. I wish I'd thought of it myself, in fact. And since that evidently is the name you're already using, I see no reason to change it.

Soundmill part is good, but it needs a descriptive first word in front of it. Like Mulecreek Soundmill or Black Hole Soundmill or something in that vein.

As a band name, I think Soundmill sounds better. But based on your songs, The Lucky Saturday Band sounds a hell of a lot more like a fit.

We're a recently formed americana-esque originals group. We have had a hard time agreeing on a name for the band, but took a name temporarily to be able to book a few gigs. We are recording some studio material to release and are discussing a new name, and I'd like some feedback if you don't mind.

Here are a couple DIY demos if you want to factor the band's sound into the name fit.

Haha. we were riffing on Similes of describing a woman's beauty, then taking it somewhere else.
