changing jazz pickups

hey guys i got a fender standard jazz bass, and im looking for something with a hard, punk rock sound that has smooth bottom end but a really crisp high end/mids. also something good for slapping! let me no, im looking at barts, dimarzios, seymour duncans, and basslines. or is seymour duncans and basslines the same thing? lol sorry im kind of a pup noob

Punkrock and smooth bottom end/crisp highs are two diffrent worlds.
The SJB-3 Quarter Pound Pickup from the Seymour Duncan Bassline
, thats the Synonym for Punkrock. Edge, Harsh, Attack, High Output, aggressive.
If you looking for smooth bottom end and delicious crispy highs you should go for SJB-1 Vintage Pickups. compressed, reduced high mids.
Bartolini only for experimental fusion twelve ton jazz.
Dimarzios good to go, specially for punk.

Just ran into this delima myself, make sure that its a post 2000 if its MIM. The pre 2001 have two neck pups, meaning that the bridge won't fit standard jazz bridge pups. I also think the neck pup is a little bit different.

how do you find the year??? im pretty sure its post cuz i just bought it new , and i cant play it for another 2 weeks but you can never be too safe.
