Changing your real name

It's surprising how many people need me to spell out my last name. It's faily common as both a first and last name. I actually kinda hate it because my first and last names practically rhyme. Richard Howard. I've had people try to spell my last name as hauwerd, howerd, and more. How is that even possible?

Half the time I use my middle name (Scott) instead of my last....it flows a bit better. And most people can spell it.

Because people are no longer reading the classics they have not acquired the skills to sound things out phonetically.

I guess....when I read your last name earlier in the thread I knew how to pronounce it without having to read how.

I can normally pronounce most names. Language study helped. My guitarist is Romanian and my drummer Italian. Not the easiest to say.

I do have to say this, I met somebody a few years ago who came into my work named Seymour Hymen. Given name or changed name?
