1995-96. this is one of those units that was not offered in the US/UK market. Japan only. ( MIJ for Japan )
I suppose since it is modeled after a Fender the Fender guard would just drop in?
Looks close to me. buy a cheap 10 dollar ebay one and see what happens.
If it works, then you can find a real nice one in whatever color you want.

I question myself about the type of "poplar" used into the 3/4B bodies : is it tulipwood - yellow poplar- what other ?
Amimbari : you have written that Charvel/Jackson used a mode heavy weight poplar than other brands… more detailed infos ?
Standard intensive grown poplar (for paper industry) is about 350-450kg/m³ , tulipwood is a little above 500kg/m³ but Some other species or grown in colder locations could have even mode density…

I have no idea where they got the wood from for all the model series basses 1-2-3 and 4.
They are quite heavy relative to the poplar they say the brand new JS series is made from as I own 2 of them and they are much lighter.

honestly, an assembler/cutter/finisher in the factory would never know where it came from either.
Only the purchasers of the blank slabs would know where it came from, what they paid ...etc.

yes they all look like that - and yes you will have to desolder the pot from the board to replace the volume, but if deoxit works, then just spray it
