Charvel Star Bass

Hey guys, Im aiming towards a Charvel star bass, I have seen a few new ones on sheBay and was wondering anyones opinion on them? £459 New with a hard case. Its got dual Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups and is in Glossy Black. At the moment im on £275. Is it worth aiming for and can I have some information on people's explerience?

There's a charvel thread here, I'm sure some of those guys will know something about the star bass. I can't say anything about it except that it looks cool.

I had one for a few months but didn't like the pup config...mines was a double P pickup and i found that it was just too midrangey for my tastes. Playability was also an issue, thought not to the extent some might tell you...they're pretty light and the neck dive, though present, isn't too severe. Construction is pretty good but no where near as good as it should be for a bass that originally retailed for around the £1300 mark when first released. I wpuldn't bother if i were you.

Owch, :/ Do you know any kind of bass with the same style body (or exotic/explorer) that is currently for sale? (Under the £500 mark)

I have finally found my perfect bass! ESP LTD EX104, Just like an explorer! Nice and pointy. Just £170 to go....
