i haven't had a chance to compare them side by side yet, but from memory, they're both excellent takes on the circuit. i'll try to get a chance to do an A/B comparison this weekend.

Many thank John! I am based in Europe and have just 1 shot on best EP take for bass. Have to make my mind between these 2. I'm mostly looking which one will impose the least high frequency rolloff. But love what EP pre does to low-mids and overall presence.

Just got one in the mail today. I agree completely with OP's comments. I've got volume at 10:00 and toggled Mid is where I'm living right now. Duff PJ, and '71 P into a Boogie Subway TT800 into an SVT 212. I need to get into a band mix, but I could see this being nearly always on. Next is see where an OD pedal sits best - before or after.

Just ordered one. Realized I don’t need as much dirt/fuzz as I thought so i’m hoping this can be a tone fattening option and I can use my Southampton 5th Gear as my mild OD. PROBABLY though, I’ll buy more dirt and weirder stuff eventually.

TS goes very well with all sorts of dirt, at least from my experience

Does this pedal add a certain saturation like the jptr Jive or in the way OD pedals at light settings do?

Hmm. I'm not the best at describing sounds, but imho it reminds me of the "Loudness" button on old stereo receivers. Engaged, everything sounds fuller, or with more depth. I suppose there's a slight amount of grit on the ends of the lows and highs.

Not to derail the thread with discussion of another pedal, but if you want some saturation combined w/the EP overall "thing", I can highly recommend the EP Drive pedal. It's replaced all other EP style pedals for me.

Got a Tone Secret a few days ago, and I love it. Adds fatness and a punchy low mid thing. It doesn’t seem to add too much low end, but it makes the sound much more “solid”, and I can FEEL the lows more. It does attenuate the highs a bit (and I love my highs), but it sounds awesome.

Also evens out the notes across fretboard in a compressor like manner. Which switch setting do you use?

I have often wondered about how some effects interact. I feel like I JUST figured out how to use my compressor so I’m even more excited to see how the TS works as an always on with my Comp- then I can use my 5th gear as OD instead of “only” my tone button.

So far I’m liking the bright setting, but we’ll see how it is with a band, allof the settings sound good.

I also really like the sound of the "volume" knob turned up all the way with the mid switch setting. It's a bit less extreme but still has the magic dust.

I will try to put something up but have never done any demo. Don't want to repeat what annoys me in other demos and would like to make it clean and the way I like i.e. loop the groove and tinker with settings, record clean line and not through friggin phone mic etc

This is why I got to wait for the opportunity (next visit in friend's studio)

The usps kept mine for 15 days but it showed today! In my IEM it sounded neat on all settings. Can’t wait to hear it through the house and maybe even a decent amp!
