Planning on doing some youtube vids. In the past I just micd the amp with a condensor mic but i'm looking for the cheapest way to DI and get a good tone through USB (Yes I know...USB).

there are any number of good sounding USB interfaces... I would go with the Apogee Duet. It has good mic pres and DI input and the converters actually sound pretty good.

The last time I checked, instrument to USB was something like 30 over the counter.
I'm absolutely sure that there's less than 5 of parts in there, but can You make that handful of parts to do the conversion as well as that factory made adapter?
