Cheap Onboard Preamps

Hey,

I'm thinking of getting an onboard preamp to upgrade my OLP MM2. I'm currently saving to get a new bass so i don't want to spend much, but i'd still like to upgrade the OLP in the mean time.
Does anyone know of any decent cheap bass preamps? The seymour duncan and the bartolinis are around $100 so i'm looking for something a fair bit cheaper, if there's something available.

I have one for sale. But the board is kinda big. Check the classifieds. I could be talked into parting with an EMG I have sitting around...

Buy something used, or an Aguilar OBP1 which can be found cheap occaisionally. Cheap preamps usually sound like crap.

maybe you want to try to build a DIY preamp project, i have found one source at Invalid Link Removed
im interested to build one too, but i dont have any experience with electronics.
any comments on DIY preamp ????
