I got the power adapter from you. The tips are correce, and were reversed, just in case they're Chinese and wrong.

I took my synth (Proteus eMu to a shop and tried it with a MIDI controller on channel one. It worked. Then I tried to change the channels. Those worked. I used the BMC on channel 1. Didn't work. I tried to change channels on the BMC and use the corresponding channel on the Proteus. Crickets. This is all detailed on the several emails I sent you.

I checked each switch with an ohm meter and all are normally open and conducting.

Nope...didn't help a bit. I want to get you on the phone so this can be done interactively, rather than back and forth over email for two weeks. It should only take 20 minutes to get through all of it.

I'm suspecting I need to get a new board to you. But I will PM you my phone number so we can talk.

One more thing to check is the MIDI connector wires. The black one should go to ground, the yellow to pin 2 and the red to pin 4. Can't imagine otherwise since each board is tested pretty extensively prior to shipping.

If you can wait until February, I will be selling a similar unit, and will have more details after the first of the year. If you can't wait, check out Highly Liquid's MIDI CPU. It's a solid product and they back it up with an excellent user forum and customer service. I wouldn't suggest buying a Basyn adapter.

If he cared about his reputation or his customers, don't you think he would have followed up on his offer to help, once he found out I was having problems with his interface?

After he had posted in another thread, I asked him about his lack of follow-through/support with people on this site, and linked to this thread. I was glad he offered to help out those who had bought his products... but offering doesn't mean as much as actually doing it. *laugh*

It's been about two months, and that's after the first lack of response. I wouldn't have taken a chance after the first round, so this last bit should definitely be a message to those interested....

Sorry, I should have made that a bit more clear - he's got the Sonosaur kit up for sale. I've had a nice set of Hammond pedals and big slab of Tasmanian Oak sitting around for the last 6 months while I figured out what I wanted to put in it.

The MIDIpeds kit is working just fine now, I have it strapped to a cut-down set of Yamaha pedals that will be mounted in my main pedalboard & will be used to run a variety of MIDI devices.

FWIW, he did get back to me super-quick via eBay's messaging service. Buggrit - I had a good tax return this year, I'm going to gamble my $100 or so. Will keep you posted.
