This is Muzz Skillings on bass, Al Cone on Guitar, I'm not sure who the other cats are but this was a BBQ, Jam Session in Queens, NY this past Sunday, also in attendance was bassist and vocalist Barry Johnson(Najee, Lenny White and a host of others), Billy Grant, Onaje Allan Gumbs and others.
 
I seem to remember an interview where he said that when he joined Living Colour ('86) that he was playing in 10 bands and was experiencing pain in his hands (especially the tips of his fingers) so he came up with this way to play because a different part of your finger hits the strings.

Toward the end of his stint in Living Colour, they played on the Arsenio Hall show the night before Lollapalooza started ('91). He played the whole song like that. I wonder if he started playing like that from there on out.
