The first time I played out, I taught one guitar player the lead to a song that I brought to the group, taught another guitar player a rhythm part and had nothing left to teach the drummer; so I covered the bass with a borrowed J-Bass. I may have played a Dan-o bass a couple times back then, too.
Taught guitar, and the occasional bass player, for some spare change while in high school, college and the Air Force. Eventually gave it all up to concentrate on IT carreer and family. Played anything I could, when I could for my own entertainment, never played out again.
Got more serious about music a while back. Found myself retired, living in New Mexico and flush with a little cash (a most unusual, not likely to be repeated, situation), so I treated myself to a pretty P-Bass and the amp. The veteran-centered jam groups that I play with generally REALLY need a bass, so I've been dragging mine out and actually having fun with it. They put up with me and tell me I don't suck, too much.
Found this place while searching for info in the little Fender amps, because I'm tired of dragging the larger amp to someone else's living room.
