Chelsea are Champions!

Arsenal are very close to Chelsea in terms of physical proximity.

In terms of footballing, Arsenal have super, super talent that is on the cusp of being amazing. Young players. Once they gel, mature, and get some big games under their belts, Arsenal will be a 4-3-3 force to be reckoned with. Built to take down the 4-1-2-1-2 Chelsea, who form that way to take out the 4-4-2 Man U and Liverpool. Rock, paper, scissors, anyone? :D

Van Persie is fragile, both keepers are terrible, and Fabergas will end up in Barcelona. Good luck

What team has won the league and not spent a ton of cash? People are pissed because an average team started spending more money than the big boys and are now one of the best in Europe. I am sure next year Man City will qualify for the Champions League and even more people will cry.

Watched the match with some Arsenal friends of mine, Ashley Cole's goal was icing on the cake!!

Yup I watched it and love it!

Chelsea actually spent very little this year and I don't see how Man Utd get exempted from the money criticism - how much did they pay for Berbatov, just to keep him away from City...?! :hmm:

Over £30 million for a bit-part player!! :eyebrow:

I'd rather see ManU champions than Chelsea, but I guess they deserve it. Luckily West Ham is still clinging on :D

And didn't Chelsea 'spend very little' because they were allowed to participate only from the January transfer window and out this season?

The difference is that all of United's money has come from their own success from 1992 - present. Chelsea and Man City receive so much critisicm because their cash has all come from wealthy foreign sugar daddies. Chelsea were not successful until they had Abramovich, hence the complaints that they 'bought' the title, and Man City have only recently been a top side since the Abu Dhabi lot arrived.

And Manchester United are owned by the Glaziers - American brothers who have no interest in British football and are just re-financing their debts!! :eyebrow:

All the top clubs are financed by big backers and Man Utd simpy sell more shirts abroad, but that's more down to ignorance of what else is going on, than their "success" - which has always been based in buying up big names - like Cantona, Ferdinand and Berbatov - as I said they paid a huge amount to stop him going to City!! :hmm:

But now their owners have been very stupid in angering the players and the fans by sacking Zola!! :hmm:

I don't think they needed any more players - if everybody came back from injury they would have difficulty leaving players out!

So - who would you put in for Drogba or Anelka - could you leave Lampard or Terry out - where is there a better keeper than Cech? There is no better left back in England than Ashley Cole and Ivanovic won plaudits - but would probably be behind Bosingwa if he was fit..?

Now Joe Cole comes back and who do you leave out - when Essien is fit, it will be a very difficult choice in midfield! :eyebrow:

Irrelevant, other than it shows United's success has been DESPITE being drained by a foreign owner - the reverse situation to City and Chelsea, so thanks for that.

Buying up those big names does not change the fact that their money came from their own success, just as their huge merchandise sales came from their own success. Success breeds success. What people hate about Chelsea and Man City is that they're trying to bypass the initial stage by buying their way to glory.

That's just naive - the reason Man Utd have been successful, is because of huge amounts invested - they weren't always as big and I can remember them being in the old second division! :eyebrow:

Besides - paying 30 million for Berbatov shows that they are just buying sucess, as much as any other club !

The reason Spurs have been successful this season, is due to being amongst the top 4 or 5 spending clubs in Europe! £150million transfer spending over the last 16 months!

It's all about money!

This, plus Man U's wonderful youth academy.
