Wow! But a bamboo topped Lakland would be dangerous!

Thanks! I would like to drop a set of humbuckers in there, and I like the look of the humbucker housing anyway. I wouldn't be against widening the routes a bit for the sake of a set of Chi Humbudkers. Sigh... another project on hold due to $....

Ah...I get it! He he he!!:ninja:

  7. That measurement is for the Single coils, as that's what's on my JO5.

Haven't seen a CS5 Humbucker in person, though I would imagine the long measurements will be pretty close to the SC.

"Lakland-Brought On Euphoria" is a medically documented condition that CAN cause some 1)bromance 2) butt slapping and God forbid 3)tearful hugging. I got a Dr's note so I've got an excuse :spit:.

  10. Just put $$$ down on one of these: Skyline DJ4 LPB w/ Rosewood, White Pearl Gaurd, and CHISONICS!!

Yeah...those too have some serious hardware a'comin'!

  14. Thanks, already sig'd the club number :) i will definately post loads of pics and my thoughts on the bass when it comes in, both here and the Lakland Owners thread... now just awaiting a lead time on installation of ChiSonics and pickgaurd, i know it's not a custom US model that'll take 3 months but i'm really really stoked and for the money i don't think you can find a better jazz bass.. I would have bought used but i wanted a Plek'd bass with ChiSonics and the DJ has been my dream bass for a few years now

That bass is going to play great! I had a DJ at one time, and it played like budda! Adding ChiSonics puts it over the edge!

  16. You are not going to believe how good that bass is gonna sound and how sweet it's gonna play.

    Congrats!

I honestly liked the looks better with the single coil Chi-Sonics, but people have been saying the humbuckers are incredibly fat in sound. They also have the ability to switch to single coil so I'll sacrifice the looks for some killer tone.
With flats, this thing should be IT for any dub/reggae or r&b.

  18. Hey Evan,
That bass is gonna be smokkkkin hot! I love the looks of it. Is it going to be passive or active ? I can't remember what you had said.

passive. Active electronics confuse me.. With passive, I get the blend right and then eq on my amp. I keep tempting myself though.
What is the benefit of an onboard eq?
