  1. I think tonally for me an onboard eq really opens up my possiblities. Being able to cut and boost the bass, mids, and highs on the fly is important for me in getting the right sound/texture. Rather than running back to the amp to adjust, it's great having that flexibility at your fingertips. I play a wide range of styles throughout a show and to have to make all those adjustments on the amp would be a pain in the ***. There's quite a bit you can do with a tone knob, but having the preamp for me is much more versatile. That's just my personal experiences/preference regarding an onboard preamp.

  2. haha, Here I was writing a whole paragraph and I could have just done a +1 if I'd seen this first. That pretty much sums it up.

  3. Now, I'm sure at some point in time I will own another Passive instrument. Most likely Chi-Loaded!!!

Well, I missed out on an Audere on board in the classifieds. People tell me that it is fairly transparent.. maybe I'll give one a shot. You each talked me into it.

Man i'm seriously debating a JO4 like yours but with a black guard and a bell cover...i'm going for a super fat J sound with a slightly different old school look....

Let's do this. If i get ten responses from this thread that say this will look and sound like i want, i'll go for it once my tax return hits...:ninja:
