@ Evil Undead - I just listened to the cuts on your homepage and they're quite good IMO. I especially liked From Ashes and Wave. I'm not a big metal guy but your stuff strikes me as slightly to the mainstream side of metal. The intro to From Ashes is especially nice and you could build on that kind of bass chord playing. You might listen to Phil Lesh on "St Stephen" for some nice bass chord playing.

I don't want to comment on others' playing without posting mine, which you can find at post 414 on page 21 of this crazy thread. Sorta like you show me yours, I'll show you mine.

Right, which is why I didn't...I just wanted to bring the song to the attention of the people who don't normally listen to their music. It fits well with one of the underlying themes of this thread; having the freedom to be yourself without other people telling you how to live your life.

I'm such a Beck fanboi ( Tal too, without a doubt! ) The pick with Beck taught me something I never realized before. Beck uses talc on his hands. I play electric guitar without a pick and it never occurred to me.

I know exactly what you mean. There is always something compelling to a picture of a well thought of player without their instrument. It's like removing their armor. She looks almost, vulnerable, in that picture. It is the "her" she wonders if anyone sees. Or, perhaps, is afraid that they DO see. Ya know?

Yeah, it's like you can see inside her soul. A part that usually can only be shared through music,is in her eyes, asking to be understood, and like you said, vulnerable.
