I'm more of a red wine guy (I can recommend Grange Hermitage or Heinscke Hill Of Grace).

On the beer front my current favourite Oz beer is BlueTongue.

"This is not a wine for drinking, it is a wine for lying down and AVOIDING"

"...This particular wine has a bouquet like an aborigine's armpit"

"...This wine should only be used for hand to hand combat"

Yep, I refinished that, and the Encore guitar on there. Quite proud :) I'm glad you like it!

When I clicked on your post on my blackberry, the pic below of the high-heeled shoe stomping the pedalboard showed up within your post with only the words "TOTAL CONTROL" (the other words and text weren't there):

I thought wow, first Deej and now a dominatrix ... then I realized it's just how digital marketing works on a blackberry. (Which was kind of a letdown given all the excitement this thread has generated. ;))

@Evil - I really like your shots; that bass just looks so at home in your hands.

I am also a female bassist, and yes, my name is Sam too (no kidding), and it is refreshing to see this kind of acceptance and support on TB and in the music community. I hope one day to have as much consistent confidence as many of the others on here, but I've always been taught that a person's value is determined by what others think. That notion is fading away, but not as quickly as I would like.

Thank you :) Unfortunately that particular bass has gone to a new home now but it has been replaced with a $$ 5

You do know right, that if you're a female bassist on here, you have to post pictures. :D

Hey, I don't make the rules ;)

So I've heard. ;)
It will have to wait until I get my desktop back up and running; all my pictures are on there. I don't have many of myself because I hate getting photographed, but there should be some from graduation night in June.

And who can forget their other classic "Why is English beer like making love in a canoe? It's ******* close to water."

Seriously, the two wines I named are excellent wines. But you will pay for them.

I've been reading this thread since it started, and just wanted to tie a few things together.
First, you're forgetting one of the original 'rock' chic bassists; White Zombie's Sean (Shauna) Yseult. In White Zombie's early days, she said that she was a somewhat androgynous, and would often be mistaken for a guy.
Second, Emma, of Sick Puppies; their latest song is Riptide, which is all about not justifying your actions or choices in life to other people. "I wont justify the way I live my life, cuz I'm the one living it..."
Anyway, figured I'd been lurking long enough and wanted to toss that out there.

@ Evil Undead - I just listened to the cuts on your homepage and they're quite good IMO. I especially liked From Ashes and Wave. I'm not a big metal guy but your stuff strikes me as slightly to the mainstream side of metal. The intro to From Ashes is especially nice and you could build on that kind of bass chord playing. You might listen to Phil Lesh on "St Stephen" for some nice bass chord playing.

I don't want to comment on others' playing without posting mine, which you can find at post 414 on page 21 of this crazy thread. Sorta like you show me yours, I'll show you mine.
