Nah, sweetness, it's the Warwick - if you were sportin' a Jazz, everyone would be all over you. :D
Seriously, I missed the pic - I don't necessarily catch up on the whole thread.
You've got a great rock and roll look.

sweetness - I like that :)

Thanks. I like my look, and definitely stand out around here. Which has its drawbacks occasionally. I've taken my fair share of abuse in the street and a couple of beatings from strangers. But screw 'em - I'll never be anything else but me :)

Nah, between the great quality of the pic and the title "chick with bass?" plus a masculine sounding name, I didn't think it was you, and that you were questioning if that was a chick or not...so it was confusing on a couple of levels for me. Back in the eighties, most of the rockers looked like women, and the line-blurring musician has been part of our culture at least since the 70's. If you like it, that's what counts and you have my respect for being yourself, that's not always easy, and sometimes takes courage. Rock on!:bassist:

I like blurring the lines. I've never been a girly girl at all, my mum always said when I was a kid that I should have been a boy :D

As for self respect and courage... see above...

Evil - that's one of the most artistic bass photos I've ever seen with or without a chick. Great shot, would make a fantastic add for Warwick, just looks so honest and deep!
It really draws the viewer in and almost makes you want to say "penney for your thoughts". Love to hear some of your music if you ever post any. From the pic it looks like you are very capable of being everything from soulfull and emotional to full on rage in a Mazzy Star or NY Loose kind of way (wow, dating my self there).
Again, great pic, great attitude and great choice of basses.

Thank you indeed! What a compliment! My partner took the photo - she's a very talented artist and enjoys taking photos amongst other things. I'll pass this on to her, she'll be thrilled :)

I'd post some of my music for you but the only stuff I have was recorded some time ago with very basic software and bad mixing - I fear you would be disappointed!

As for Warwick, I love them - I don't feel truly comfortable with any other basses. They're simply fantastic instruments.

Thanks for your kind words :)

Jeeze, what's wrong with the world when people beat people they don't even know just because of the way they look? :scowl:

This thread is making me think of things that normally don't even cross my mind.

Chick with bass?

you know when I 1st saw this Photo I thought it was early Photo of Christa Hillhouse, then I noticed the Warwick Headstock.

Wow, I've never stumbled across this thread before. 38 pages of catching up and now I'm very behind on the work I was trying to do! But I must give my $0.02 because it's all so important to everyone, right? Ah, the internet! But seriously, I feel I have to post simply because my avatar must be in this thread. Can I get a "Giggity?"

Props to Deej for putting herself out there and standing up to the trolls. My wife struggles with her confidence after problems earlier in life and it's hard to get back on the horse and live your life fully. Way to go. And for the record, the most recent Deej photo is my fav followed closely by original photo without bass (due to the smile as most others have said).

Props to all the other female posters as well. There is someone for everyone out there. Thank goodness we have more flavors than just chocolate and vanilla. Both Sam & Buchanan ring my bell just fine.

Trolls. Boo. There is enough hate in the world. Why spread more over something as trivial as an online thread.

I definitely dig Sam's playing. Very cool lines that add a lot to the songs. Not the best recordings to pass definitive judgement, but I think that the songs would be pretty plain and ordinary without those basslines. The tone works well for it, too.

The dude who posted after Sam sounded good, too. Nice songwriting as well.

I'd just like to thank my wife who also happens to like girls, too. It makes her psycho moments easier to take. ;)

The thread is totally overflowing with awesomeness and a big thank you to all contributors--sans trolls.

And finally, boobs rule.

I have no picture of my wife actually playing my bass, but one with her and my bass in the same photo. I've also included one without bass, however, our neighbor is trying to kiss her . . .

Ah! Passing along the dregs, are you? Well, I am glad to hear that "Foster's" really ISN'T Australian for "Beer"... but seeing as how I am a beer kinda guy - just what SHOULD I be asking for if I want a proper taste of Australia?
