I get told I look way younger

I have a daughter your age, it clouds my judgement.

But when you do your first tour of Australia, message me. You seem like a nice person and I'll come along and say Hi. Then I can boast to my friends..."Gee, was just back stage with Same the rockstar, I knew her when she was just starting out and lurking on Talkbass, before her 15 multiplatinum albums and successful career as a major studio producer!"

My wife would probably like to meet one of the main protagonists from this amazing thread too. She's loving it.

.....

My big thing was figuring out how old I would be when the year 2000 hit.

...

I remember doing that too, and having lots of conversations about how cool the future would be. Alot of cool things have happened, but I really thought we'd have flying cars by now:D. Didn't dream I'd see musicianship take a nose dive with so much free info around in favor of corporate processed music either, but I digress. Not saying great music and musicians aren't still around, but you have to hunt for them more, and they don't seem to be appreciated.

Oh and I like that pic best, so it chick with bass.

Hahaha I'd love to go to Aussie
And I'd love to meet your wife :)

That would be Ms. Martha's Corset Shop in Atlanta. I worked at her booth at the Taboo show in Vancouver three years ago and was paid with the corset. She's online. I also get corsets from Felix and Kitty here in BC.

Thank you, thank you. I'm familiar with Felix and Kitty. They have some beautiful pieces. Ms. Martha is a new name to me, but geographically a much better fit. Thanks for the info.

Wow, didn't realise that pic you posted was you! Thought it was a stock photo of some rock diva I didn't recognise. It's a great photo.

Yep it's me alright :)

You definitely blur some lines, but you'd probably be interesting as hell to have a pint with.

Haha, that's a very tactful way of saying that I look like a dude :D I know I do, and I get mistaken for a guy often. Doesn't bother me though, I quite like it. My partner likes my look too.

Hmm... It seems I'm too manly and unattractive to be visible in this thread!

Girly girls get all the attention :D

Nah, sweetness, it's the Warwick - if you were sportin' a Jazz, everyone would be all over you. :D
Seriously, I missed the pic - I don't necessarily catch up on the whole thread.
You've got a great rock and roll look.

Nah, between the great quality of the pic and the title "chick with bass?" plus a masculine sounding name, I didn't think it was you, and that you were questioning if that was a chick or not...so it was confusing on a couple of levels for me. Back in the eighties, most of the rockers looked like women, and the line-blurring musician has been part of our culture at least since the 70's. If you like it, that's what counts and you have my respect for being yourself, that's not always easy, and sometimes takes courage. Rock on!:bassist:
