Chinese ash?

Hey guys,just found a bass that looks pretty decent and was thinking of putting a darkstar in it but...it says on the site I was going to buy it from that its made of "Chinese ash".My question is: Is this wood any good?Is it a really cheap wood?Does it sound anything like regular ash?

Btw the bass is an Austin p-bass,if needed I'll post the link to it.

That might be a reference to 'Sen'. This is a wood often used in MIJ stuff. I don't know if it is a type of ash or not, but it seems very similar to it as far as grain and density/weight.
This old Jazz copy is 'Sen'.

That might be the same wood.Except the bass I was looking at is still only a fraction of what a CIJ Fender is worth,plus the grain on that bass is way more defined and appealing than the one on the bass I was looking at.
