I was looking to upgrade my USA SUB pickguard so I figured I'd take a chance on this China model as it's less than the cost of a decent beer:

It arrived in about a week, not bad.

They did say in the description "Note:Since there are many different pickguard designs and holes patterns on guitars and basses, some slight modifications may be required for an exact fit!"

Well, I guess so! Nice, huh? :eyebrow:

Haha, oh man. At least the pickup cutout fits :P

I remember buying a black Fender Jazz pickguard from China for $5 AUD. When I went to install it, I discovered that almost every single screw hole was out of position. It may have been based off either a 60's or 70's Jazz guard because it had a screw hole in the middle of the guard too although there was no mention on the listing.

I later purchased another aftermarket guard from a local store. This one set me back $20 AUD so I figured it HAD to fit. Wrong. The bloody pickup cutouts were too small :/. Needless to say, I got my money back for that one right away.

Moral of the story: Don't trust aftermarket sellers for guards. Bite the bullet and buy the real deal.
