Another vote for Ibanez SR. You can find a used SR300 for less than $200 and they'll cover most any genre of music. They're a GREAT beginner/intermediate bass IMO and I always try to recommend them to people starting out.

I've been enjoying bass lessons and I want to get a new bass to jam with my friends and just chill with at home.
I've been looking at three bassguitars in particular:
The Squier affinity Jazz bass
Yamaha TRBX174
Squier vintage modified
I'd hope to get some insight as to why and if there are any special things to note about these bassguitars![]()
Btw. do you know the difference between jazz and precision bassguitars?
