I've been playing bass guitar for a year and a half. I am still with my first gear, but I feel I need to improve my technique and my 'axe just can't follow me... In my playing, I feel I need to do a lot of strength to pluck the strings, maybe because of the neck and its woods, and I want a bass without this problem, with a better feeling... Current gear: Yamaha RBX170, Orange Crush 50BXT and Zoom B2.1u. I am searching for a new bass, and because I am so in love with bass playing, I think I can spend up to 1500-2000. My style is mainly Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and I don't know which bass guitar I should choose... So, I play Black Sabbath, Metallica, GNR, Megadeth, Muse, Ozzy, Pantera and some Red Hot, and I realy love David Ellefson's, Jason Newsted's, Duff McKagan's and Frank Bello's tone. I have in mind: Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass, a Warwick bass (just don't know which...) and Music Man Stingray, but I listen all of your advices! I know other brands like BC Rich, Jackson, ESP/LTD and Ibanez, but I don't see many metal/rock bassists rocking with this stuff, I don't know... What should I choose? And I have other questions: Active vs Passive Pickups. / Maple vs Rosewood Fretboard (Yes, Maple - Bright and RW - Warm, but what is better for my style?) Please help me!
