Chorus as an always-on effect with some drive before/after?

I've searching youtube to hear the combination chorus/drive but I can't find anything. I'm interested in buying a chorus pedal. Don't want to spend more than 100 bucks now because I'll have to warm up to using it first before spending serious money. I generally only buy effects that can stay on all the time. So can you guys tell me if a milder chorus with some tube overdrive is gonna work in a rock/metal context?

I run a T-Rex Bass Sweeper that is on quite a bit... IMO it's pretty versatile. I've coupled it with a lot of different dirt over the years... OCD, MXR Distortion, Muff, Tone Bender, Fuzz Face... I liked every combination with the favorite being the tone bender and the least being the muff...

I have an MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe in the chain, and because it has a "crossover" of sorts, I have it on almost always now. Tweaked as I have it, I just get a thickening to the lower registers, but up high the chorus kicks in. As I'm currently spending most of my time in a Def Leppard tribute, I can leave it on pretty much all the time.

Really cool pedal.

I use my old Boss pedal...got it for guitar 20 yrs or so ago but works fine with bass too.

I play in an instrumental progressive metal band and I use chorus as much as I can...I have an mxr analog chorus and it gives a great deep chorus effect

The last drive/chorus combination I had was the Empress Multidrive and the MXR Stereo Chorus. The OD setting + chorus was absolutely gorgeous sounding. My next combo will feature the VT Bass and probably the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe, if Santa notices how nice I've been in the last months. I prefer the chorus after the drive.

I use chorus a lot with my Darkglass B3K. Not always on though.

Mostly for 80's type metal.

I use the EHX small clone with the EHX Bass Big Muff. Both are not always on though. They are TRUE BYPASS, so to me, it does not matter where they are on my pedalboard. At least, my ears cannot detect a difference.

chorus on all the time can be quite tasty. IMO the best way to do it would be with an EQ in front of it and be in the loop of a blender. There's going to be many instances where you don't want that chorus on the low end
