Very sad news Chris was the reason why I wanted a Rickenbacker & wanting to be a bass player. When he did the signed copies of FOOW I emailed Stone Ghost about the CD and got an answer from Chris himself, we traded a couple of emails I was chuffed. R.I.P Chris .

I cut and pasted this post of mine from a thread entitled 'Chris Squire' - A bit of detail from my 1st Yes show....

Glad you enjoyed your 1st Yes show. I am a big Chris Squire fan. I think I've told this story here but, my 1st Yes show was in 1978, in the round at the Spectrum in Philadelphia At one point of the show a red spotlight light hit one of the tuners on Squires Ric and reflected into my eyes. It was like that scene at the church in the Blues Brothers movie when Jake has a vision from god... I had been saving my money for a guitar but 2 days later I bought an electric bass from the local Sam Goody record store (records? What the hell are those?).

A huge personal influence on me, early on I learned every Yes song I could get ahold of, and practically wore out my copy of FOOW. Lucky Seven is pretty much in permanent rotation in my head.

Aw man that's too bad. When I read about the leukemia, I knew it wouldn't be long, maybe another year. I wouldn't have guessed he'd go that quick.

I've been listening to a lot of Drama and Tormato lately. Tempus Fugit is such a blast to play! I know Tormato gets dogged a lot as garbage, but I love it.
Chris was using a lot of fuzz, phaser, and envelope filter at the time, does anyone know what pedals he was using?
