I cant imagine YES without him, it would be like a storm without thunder, how do you replace thunder?! Chris is one of the most BADASS bassists to ever grace the face of this planet, and the world of kickass rock just lost a GIANT.

I wanted and got a bass as a gift when I was 12, I was listening to stuff like Poison and Motley at the time....then one day I heard Roundabout on the radio,I was instantly inspired by the sleazy nasty grind he got.

Even if you personally dont cite him as a direct influence on your playing, I guarantee that many of the players who DO Influence you WILL cite him as an influence.
His contribution to the sound of rock bass guitar is enormous, maybe even unmatched.

Chris Squire , founding member and bass player of YES passed away today at the age of 67 , glad I got to see these guys last year , awesome show

I had the pleasure of seeing Yes play a couple years ago with my kids and Chris stole the show with his amazing chops and showmanship. It is a sad day :-(

Extremely saddened by this. Chris' tone has been a huge influence on me, and Yes remain one of my favorite Prog bands ever. As others have said, there are some pretty big shoes left to fill now, which i dont imagine will ever be, really. My thoughts go to his family and band members in this very trying time. RIP :<
