The problem is that there are SO many variables in amplifying the DB (the bass, bass strings, bass setup, the amp, the pickup, the placement of the pickup, the mic, the location of the mic, the placement of the amp, signal chain, etc.) Once you start messing with one thing something else invariably starts to seem like the weakness. I'm not suggesting to that Kevin not try stuff. Just that the proverbial can-o-worms is (or at least can be) opened once you start.
BTW the MB-150 sound like poop with a mic IMO. If you want to do the mic thing get a different amp.
