chrome finish bass

does anyone know somekind of store or company I can send my bass to and have it chromed?
I live in Portugal, so if by miracle there's a portuguese user of this forum that reads this thread and knows the answer to this I'd be very greatful.
but even if you don't know any store or company in here that does this but knows one in other country say it as well, it might be useful for someone.

I thought chroming was an electro-plating process. Didn't know you could chrome wood.

so did the harley chrome guitar.

if you shoot it with a very plastic based paint should be able to do a chrome finish like they put on toys. also i have provided a link above

I'm pretty sure I've seen chrome Warwicks from their custom shop, but I don't know how they accomplish it, or who else may do it.

You can get a shiny silver paint that, while not chrome, will look essentially the same. However, you'll never keep it clean enough to enjoy it.

idk about the others but i held the harley strat in a north chicago suburb shop a long time ago and it wasnt terribly heavy. it was an aluminum body.

Its possible to chrome coat a lot of different materials now.

I was watching the extra features on the Star Wars stuff, and one of the biggest changes from Episode 2 and 3 was that they could chrome rubber and other materials so that they cut down drastically on the amount of light sabers they had to make, and also no longer had to have multiple versions depending on the situation... I dont know how accurate the "pretty much can chrome anything now" phrase is, but its around that time that we saw the Warwick chrome streamers come out.

oh yeah! i used to have my darkfinish les pauls and my black jazz drives me crazy...id probably get tennis elbow just trying to keep a chrome guitar or bass somewhat respectable

Chrome Boy has always been one of my very favorite guitars.
There is a picture of Satch holding it on the cover of his Crystal Planet album.

I would love to have a guitar or bass like that, but I just can't get past the fact that it would probably be constantly covered in fingerprints.

A good friend of mine who owns an autobody shop has been using a chrome style paint for several years now. It really looks great and is pretty durable; he's been painting certain motorcyle, boat, and auto engine accessory parts. He can also add a color tint so it looks like colored chrome.
I'm sure this is the same coating Sims, Warwick, and Manson etc have been using on their stuff.
