Church Bassists (no longer active thread)

Hey everyone. I noticed there are a lot of bass players on this site that play in church. I would love to start a thread to hear how different bassists approach the songs for a worship service, practice routines, techniques, etc. We use the Nashville number system in our church, and most of our songs are a combination of 1,4,5,6. I would love to hear how you go about setting up the tone of your bass and how you work with the sound guy. We currently run about 700 people in 2 services and our sanctuary seats about 400. We had the room professionally set up with an acoustic engineer. I don't know the technical side of the house, but it's an impressive system to look at. I play through a DI and use 1964 V-6 stages IEM through an Aviom monitor system. So what do you think? Can we get a group to start discussing last week's set list or next week's upcoming set?

Well....aside from saying you play an amazing bass for church worship (I like my KZ5 too!), there are a couple of groups on here that do just that. I'd suggest using the search function and seeing what you can come up with. FWIW I played my fretless this weekend...just got it upgraded with a new preamp and had to try it out...most likely back to the MTD next week.
