Cimar Ric copy

Hi guys, i have an option to get Cimar bass, which is Mij as far as i know, neck through from 70s, stereo. Bass is beaten as an old dog, neck repaired, need a new bridge, new fretwork would be nice, probably electronic messed up and maybe rewinding pups too.

Anyone held a bass from this brand? Feeling wise, it was tiny more comfy than my Matsumoko one, another color, so that is appealing too. Little worried as could not held it with strings and so. Without, neck looks pretty straightwith no twisting.

How much would you pay for it in this state, as the repairs will cost quite a bit... Or maybe better to spot and wait for some other one in perfect condition like Greco, Fernandes or so?

Thanks

I'd pass.

Not because it's a Cimar - I've owned quite a few of their guitars and basses over the years and they were mostly fine - but because of the condition of the instrument. The only price that I'd maybe accept it for would be free. YMMV.

Good luck.

Thanks, at the end, I offered 400€ for it in state it is, but he refused, so screw it. Better to wait for something ok. Until now, I have to deal with my Matsumoku bolt on and one input, still great instrument for my fingers...
