CITES Rosewood question (US to Canada)

So I understand that the CITES requirement around rosewood have changed and now exempt instruments with rosewood, but NOT Brazilian Rosewood. I'm in the US and have a buyer in Canada interested in a G&L with a rosewood board. Thing is, the build sheet does NOT specify what kind of rosewood.

As I understand it, Brazilian Rosewood is still problematic but not other kinds of rosewood. How would I know the difference?

Any advice here on shipping from the US to Canada given this scenario?

Brazilian rosewood is a premium upgrade these days and I'd say it's safe to assume it isn't used on any production instruments. Just to give you an idea of the cost: at the Sadowsky shop a standard Brazilian fingerboard is an extra $500 and a "master grade" Brazilian board is $1000.

According to the G&L website, the USA model L-2500 is available with a maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboard and the Tribute Series L-2500 is available with a maple or Brazilian cherry (Jatoba) fingerboard. Brazilian rosewood isn't even listed as an option on the custom shop page.

Thanks. This was made in 2017 but it sounds like it is still most likely NOT Brazilian rosewood.

I've been wondering about the CITES exemption too since I'm in the US and am corresponding with a potential buyer in B.C. I also have a G&L but mine is definitely Indian rosewood since it's from the mid 90s or so and that was the only rosewood they used then.

I don't think G&L has ever used Brazilian rosewood. I've been buying G&Ls since the late 90s and I've never seen it. It's possible it could have shown up on a one off Custom Shop model but if it were an option, they would make it very clear.
