Wonder how the guys that are IN the band feel about this? My guess is there is no band at all, just a pipe dream. Practice on weekends? Uh, no, that's when I get paid to play.

Country music musicians-pro mentality

I am putting together a professionally minded country music band that will be playing new country, some old country, and some oldies just to keep the dancing crowd happy....we have done the open mic thing for awhile and I noticed the crowds were staying all day just to hear us play....sooooo, I decided to put a professional band together....You don't need to be a pro just yet but this band is heading for venues such as the casinos and larger outdoor venues. ...Dive bars are not where I intend us to be hanging out....
I am looking for a drummer that has his own gear to play out. I have my set here in the studio for practice, no need to move yours. I am looking for a backup bass player. I am also looking for a lead/ rythym guitar player that might be in the band full time or be a backup in case one of my guys doesn't work out. I am looking for a steel player and possible a violin/fidle player too.
This is going to be a really good band. We have our own studio room and pro gear...We are not a bunch of hacks...trust me...
I am professioanly minded musician and player but not perfect,like everyone else. I am the founder of the band and I am the driving force behind this whole production and I am looking for people who can handle the pressure of being asked to do their best, show up to practice on time on the weekends from noon until 4 pm, one day a weekend and be able to play out once a month. Other than that, we all get along pretty well and are having fun.Write me back if you are interested. No booze, no drugs, and no women at the practices....sorry, no exceptions...we know what works and what doesn't....

1) I'm active in the CT open mic scenes, especially country and Americana, and never heard of him or his "band"
2) He's gonna take this band from a pipe dream in his home studio immediately up to playing casinos. Right. Never heard of paying your dues, I guess.
3) He phrases it as "doesn't work out", he means He's already hedging bets against members jumping ship. Lining up subs before you have a band? Really?
4) "I'm not perfect" ... might be humility, but from the context I hear someone making excuses beforehand.
5) "the driving force behind this whole production" ("and don't you ever forget it!)
6) "Trust me" ... yeah, sure, 'nuff said.
7) I play out on weekends, not rehearse
8) One gig a month? So 16 hours of rehearsal nets 3 hours of stage time. Sure.
9) Little to no creative input, scant gigs, and no women, booze or drugs. How the hell can this be fun? :D

Sounds like the ad was written by my old BL from when I played in that miserable country band. Only difference was we practiced on Tuesdays. And Thursdays. Every week. Same kind of mentality, same set of expectations (fairs and festivals, NO BARS). It was a revolving door of musicians, seemed like someone new every week was showing up. In the time I was there I could name over 20 musicians who came and went, either by choice or not.

All they play is bars now.

Maybe someone would like it, IDK, but BTDT, didn't even get a t-shirt.

At least you know exactly where that tour bus is going before you get on.

Found it.

Also, "I" should be capitalized, and there is no need for the spaces utilized within the parentheses. The sentence within the parentheses needs a period.

You will not be writing ad copy for me. At least, not at your current rates. :p

Not all bad. Sounds like he has a vocalist and a few instruments lined up and may be sick and tired of playing bars and want to do other kinds of gigs. Best to lay out all the details in an ad. Weekly rehearsals seem reasonable. If it were another genre, I might respond. But here is the deal breaker for me: I just do not understand...why do all of this with the expectation of playing out just once a month.
