Class D 2 Ohm Stable?

The GB 12.0 loks mighty tempting but hafta run both sides for my 2- 4 Ohm cabs.
Should I care?

The Carvin BX1500 is stable at 2Ω per channel.

Edit: However I run my two 4Ω Acme B2s one per channel for 900W available.

Ya know I look at the features and Specs on the Carvin heads and I wonder why I should buy anything else......I just sold my 2001RB for $600 to save my back, this would save my bank account too!

GB has a better warranty and resale value.

I wouldn't worry about 2 ohms. If they cabs are the same you can run the in serial at 8 ohms and the acoustic SPL would be pretty much the same.

Do you mean caring from the sense of overheating the amp? In which case, no worries. This head was designed to drive two 4-ohm cabs.

Or do you mean caring from the sense of whether you are driving one channel or two? In which case, I would again say no worries. From a performance/use perspective, the ShuttleMAX 12.0 driving two 4-ohm cabs should work just like a different (2-ohm stable) head driving both cabs off of one channel.

Some factors worth considering are whether or not you'd be using a single cab on occasion. If so, the SM12 is still going to be fine, as it's safe to operate one or both channels without a load. It's also worth questioning how much power you really need. If you don't need a total of 1,200 watts, then you might be better served by getting a smaller, single channel head that is stable to 2 ohms.

As mentioned above, EA and Carvin, offer lightweight heads which are stable to 2 ohms, so you have some choices.
