Class D amps sound inferior?

After reading all 19 pages, I can only wonder if a class D amp might have the “slam” of a lead-sled if it were equipped with one of these power cords: ;)

"I need a 9ga power cable to efficiently carry power to my $12K amp." (Don't ask what the primary on the power transformer is wound with, or what's used for the house wiring that carried the power all the way to the electrical outlet, as opposed to the last three feet to your amp.)

I don't think you're getting this. The power supply has nothing to do with the power amplifier architecture and the class of operation. These are two separate, distinct building blocks in the amplifier. They could even be powered by a bank of batteries, yet still be class D, AB, H, or whatever.

As far as being specific, when another person has enough background knowledge to understand what is being discussed, it's not necessary to thoroughly describe to them all the details.

Just in case everyone on TB is not up on all topics in the teachers lounge:

A: input EMI filtering and bridge rectifier;
B: input filter capacitors;
"Between" B and C: primary side heat sink;
C: transformer;
Between C and D: secondary side heat sink;
D: output filter coil;
E: output filter capacitors.
The coil and large yellow capacitor below E are additional input filtering components that are mounted directly on the power input connector and are not part of the main circuit board. ATX power supplies provide at least 5 independent voltage outputs. SMPS.

I have a rootamentary understanding of the fact that there are components involved, why I not being an electrical engineer would mistake "supply" to be something other than a converter and when asking a comparative question that the faculty should assume it is coming from the student body not the grad students, generally.

I like the porcelain insulators. How much voltage do they think those wires are carrying? The power cable sort of looks like an Anaconda digesting something. Edit: Perhaps that's the AC reservoir inside that loom covering material.

The fact that things like this even exist is a testament to the wisdom of P.T. Barnum as it relates to correctly reading the crowd.
One of the hardest things for people to do is to admit they were wrong. Many people would rather believe a lie, live with cognitive dissonance, lose relationships, or even die, than admit they were wrong.
