Class D amps sound inferior?

Just an FYI...

The other Walter Woods amp, that looked like the prior example, sold for $1700 within the last 45 days. I was always under the impression that this was a smokin' amp for Upright Bass players? (I don't really play Upright Bass.)

The other listing had ended with 3 offers...

That's all I know...

does Dave still build the amps or has he retired? they where very affordable, and worth the waite

I think not only did "Dave" retire, but he also for a time made repair work complicated by being less than completely truthful with those who sent their amps back to him for work... So there's that too.
Kinda unfortunate, but whatever. I remember when they were flavour of the month around here.

That's all I know...
I never played upright through any of mine! Electric bass, and on occasion, electric guitar (for recording, primarily). My Electracoustic was a 600 watt amber light model.
