Clean solid sate preamp/DI suggestions?

I'm looking for a basic clean solid state preamp/DI. I don't need presets, drive, effects loop, etc. I'm not sure I even need an EQ at all since my basses have four-band preamps (Mike Pope), but it'd be nice to have the extra flavour compared to a DI.

I love the Pope preamp in my bass, so I'm leaning towards the Trickfish Minnow. The Nordstrand also seems cool and so does the Caveman BP1 Compact, albeit quite expensive. I like Aguilar's AG700, but the AG Preamp doesn't seem to be a hit.

What else is out there? What would you recommend?

Radial JDI is a great choice. But frankly above a certain point all DI boxes are equal quality just different flavours. This video is explains how:

Maybe you just need a good DI (Radial J48?) since you're happy with the on-board pre? I have found sometimes I have over processed preamped basses. (on-board/out board preamp/ amp pre and/or FOH boards with their own preamps.

If i'm working ampless, I generally you some type of preamp, with ampsimulator/DI box. If using an amp, I just utilize the amp's preamp section (Genz Shuttle 6.2). When I work pit orchestra, I generally just use the on-board preamp on my Kiesel Icon into a J48 straight to the mixer.

Another vote for the magellan pre from me, its quiet, well made and has a variable hpf built in.

Right now, my situation is:

At home: Bass > Amplifier (without cabinet) > Interface > Headphones
Rehearsal (studio): Bass > Amplifier + Cabinet (which I dislike)

Since we've not played a show since I've joined the band four years ago, I'm getting rid of my amplifier. So my idea is to get a preamp to replace my amplifier at home and to use into the effects send of the amplifier at rehearsal.

I have always used a JDI … the reason the Jensen transformer the transformer in the JDI can take upstream saturation which I use.

Sounds like you generally have a tone you like. Maybe just add some tube warmth with a Sushi Box Finally V2?

I currently have a Pinstripe Pedals LWDI which is essentially a Radial JDI in a smaller box designed for pedalboards. It is great and is bulletproof.
