Clear guitar straps are back!

The way I sweat when I play, I can just see that thing sticking to the skin on my neck...

BnB
We'll see. I tend to keep it away from my neck, sitting more on my shoulder bone than the blade, but it does slide around so I guess I'll find out on my next couple gigs this weekend.

Agreed. And we saw them on their tour that year (2010) and they were fantastic. They played a few tracks from the new album including "Fresh!".
EDIT: Before Something For Everybody came out, they posted all of the tracks they were considering for the album on their website and asked the fans to vote for their favorites. I sat down with our son (who was 7 at the time) we picked the ones we liked. All of the tracks we voted for made it on the album. Pretty cool.

On topic, I've never considered a clear strap, but they look cool. On a dark stage it might look like your bass is holding itself up!
So you and your kid are to blame for "Cameo," eh? :D Actually, that whole survey side angle was a farce IMHO. I think they had the album and ad campaign planned out long before any surveys, the guy who they said was the ad agency rep was an actor, and the whole light blue color scheme was an angle to sell more energy domes because most fans had red ones already. But it sure was fun, and I really enjoyed the few episodes of that web series they did as well as most of the album.

Just got back from a 4-hr gig with my Precision a couple hours ago, and surprisingly, my shoulder is in good shape after using the clear strap. Didn't stick to my neck, didn't make me overly sweaty under it, shoulder blade doesn't seem to hurt any worse than it does with any of my wide padded orthopedic straps. Pretty happy about that because my shoulder gets a little sensitive with thinner straps.

Mine arrived about a week ago. Instantly put the Dunlop Straplok on. But then I've decided not to use it with any of my basses, as it turns out to be the perfect match for my headless Hohner guitar. Together they are very 80s looking.

How sweaty and bitey (sic) is that on the shoulder? I would think a plastic material would become uncomfortable since it doesn't breath like leather ( albeit infinitesimal ). I love me some Levi strap action. It's all I use. The edges on that sucker look like they would bite in.

Just curious. I didn't know I liked them till I saw it :) Still, due diligence and all that!

Doesn't seem any more sweaty than a typical strap with a leather or vinyl backing. And though I don't ever play shirtless, sometimes I wear a shirt where it pulls on the collar and touches my neck directly, and it doesn't seem any worse than any other strap that does it. Maybe slightly, but I haven't come home with any scars or abrasions.

Now you can REALLY rock like Devo!

Too funny! I always thought they were cheesy as hell. But hey, if you dig it, rock on!
As you can see by this picture of Jerry Casale, nothing cheesy about it! Now about that hairpiece...

:D

I don't have much input on the strap (clear is neat, way too narrow for a heavy bass, would otherwise go well with an Armstrong), but I realize the whole time I've been reading this thread, "Girl U Want" has been playing in my head!

Look at you with your mouth waterin'...

I like Girl U Want OK but I'm much more of a fan of their earlier stuff where guitar and electric bass ruled the day and synths were just there as a little sweetening.
