Clickbait Style Thread Titles

Without singling anybody out and giving specific examples, did anyone ever notice that some of the thread titles here are “clickbait” style? You know, the “You won’t believe what she did next!” type of thing. For some reason, I avoid reading anything with that kind of bait for me to do so. I prefer a more descriptive title than something vague but obviously trying to tempt.

Funny. I was thinking of starting more threads with clickbaity titles!

It’s good to hear that I’m not the only one that notices this. It seems to be in fashion for web posts/articles anymore and I think it comes off as shady and deceptive. I’d really like to see the trend change. I don’t come here for sensationalism and outrageous posts, I come here to talk bass. If I wanted that nonsense, I would read Yahoo news or watch reality TV.

My favorite clickbait title is...
ATTENTION (insert local town name) DRIVERS (or homeowners)!! NEW INSURANCE RULE WILL COST YOU HUNDREDS MORE!!!

i’ve never taken the bait so i’m not sure what the scam is but apparently plenty people do because some variation of this shows up almot daily on the local news feed i follow.
