I have been playing this bass for about 9 months now. I've given myself plenty of time after buying it last year to try and bypass my confirmation biases and I think I have reached a conclusion. This bass kicks ass. The playability is sweet, the action is perfect an when you have it around your neck it feels lightweight but you know it's a quality instrument.
However, the only sad thing is that this great axe has electronics in it that I'm not too fond of. It has a piezo system which makes it sound very different: kind of light and airy. Though I think it sounds very cool, it doesn't mix well with my band. I'm talking with Cliff right now about replacing the electronics.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me about what pickups should go in it? I know this is probably a common taste, but my favorite fretless tone is Jaco's tone on Teen Town. If I could make this bass sound even close to that I would be in hog heaven.
